Animaten tutkijat pyrkivät enenevässä määrin avoimeen julkaisemiseen, osallistuvat yhteiskunnalliseen keskusteluun kirjoittamalla yleistajuisia tekstejä ja kannanottoja, edustavat monilajista pedagogiikkaa ja muiden eläinten etuja erilaisissa toimikunnissa sekä työskentelevät parhaillaan suomenkielisen monilajisen kasvatuksen oppikirjan parissa.
